Created for The Royal Ballet in 1983, Consort Lessons featured Lesley Collier and the young Alessandra Ferri along with a small corps of four women partnered by their ‘Consorts’, Wayne Eagling, Stephen Jeffries, Julian Hosking and Anthony Dowson.

My second ballet for the Company, Consort Lessons was later danced by Les Grands Ballets Canadiens and along with another of my early works, Choros, won the London Evening Standard Award for ballet in 1984.
